Alexei Tchistyi

Associate Professor of Finance at Gies College of Business, University of Illinois

Alexei Tchistyi is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Gies College of Business in the University of Illinois. He previously taught at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hass School of Business at University of California, Berkeley, and Stern School of Business at New York University. He has received numerous awards for his teaching, including being twice awarded the Earl F. Cheit Outstanding Teaching Award.

His research focuses on real estate finance, corporate finance, and dynamic contracting. He was awarded the Review of Financial Studies Young Researcher award in 2009 for his article on Performance-Sensitive Debt. His research has appeared in the Journal of FinanceJournal of Financial EconomicsReview of Financial StudiesJournal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy.

He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Stanford University, an M.A. in Economics from New Economic School, and both an M.S. and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
