Wenbiao Cai of Vega Economics was retained to analyze the economic feasibility of agricultural productions on a real property, which has for years relied on salty recycled water for irrigation. Soil salinity built up on the property soil threatens viability of current and future agricultural productions. His report first identifies the set of agricultural commodities that are biologically suitable for the real property, based on soil salinity reports, plant salinity tolerance, and yield functions. The report then presents results from economic analysis of costs and revenues of hypothetical productions of these commodities on the real property. The report will assist the client’s Sphere of Influence (SOI) application.
