Vega Economics expert Jui Ramprasad, a Professor at UMD, was retained to analyze social media content containing allegedly copyrighted music and determine the potential impact on the purchasing decisions on consumers. Prof. Ramaprasad also provided opinions on how social media posts gradually have the most engagement early on before gradually declining.   

Professor Jui Ramaprasad is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. She previously held a faculty appointment at McGill University and earned her Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. She holds a B.S. from the University of Southern California.

Professor Ramaprasad’s research focuses on online platforms and digital consumer behavior, including how platform features, social influence, and online engagement affect user participation, consumption, and payment decisions. Her work has been published in leading journals such as Management Science, Information Systems Research, and MIS Quarterly, and she currently serves on the editorial boards of Management Science and Information Systems Research as an Associate Editor.
