After nearly a decade since the first repurchase action was filed in NY state court alleging originators failed to cure or repurchase loans that allegedly failed to conform to representations and warranties, cases have continued to be filed well into 2019. As of November 2020, at least twenty of these actions are still active and some are nearing 90 months since commencement.
The Vega team has summarized the case status for many repurchase actions and have provided an interactive visualization of the case timelines for these actions. Vega regularly updates the repurchase case information for NY state court cases, and we continue to keep our eye out for new filings.
The case information was collected by our team from the New York State Unified Court System. We have also made the data we collected as well as our calculations for the dashboard available via an online spreadsheet. For more information, please contact us at info@vegaeconomics.com.
