Our featured expert, Lou Rossiter, is an expert in health economics. He has testified or has served as an expert in the following areas: competition in the financing and delivery of health services, reimbursement economics, managed care organizations (especially Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed care), prescribed medicines, survey research, and health information analytics.
Dr. Rossiter is the author of 14 edited books, one sole-author book published in 2001 on Medicare managed care plans, and over 50 journal publications on health economics and the role of competition in the financing and delivery of health services.
Vega is currently retained to support Dr. Rossiter as an economics expert in an antitrust case against a hospital system. Plaintiffs allege that the hospital system’s anticompetitive practices resulted in supracompetitive prices that are passed on to commercial health plans as well as their members, in the form of higher premiums, lower wages and reduced benefits.
