Shahrzad Ghourchian

Dr. Shahrzad ("Shah") Ghourchian is an economist with over a decade of experience in applied macroeconomics and statistical analysis. At Vega Economics, she applies her expertise in empirical modeling and data analytics to support complex economic analysis in litigation. 

Prior to joining Vega Economics, Dr. Ghourchian served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Saint Michael’s College, where she taught econometrics, data analytics, and policy modeling and mentored students on applied research projects. Her prior work includes analyses of trade exposure and local housing affordability, as well as the economic effects of resource booms in the energy sector.

Dr. Ghourchian holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Florida International University and an M.A. in Energy Economics and a B.A. in Theoretical Economics from the University of Tehran. She is proficient in Stata, R, Python, SQL, and Tableau, and has completed professional certificates in Data Analytics and Economic Measurement.
